Football Prospect Camps: A Position-by-Position Plan
Educational information only. This article does not guarantee recruiting outcomes and is not legal, medical, financial, eligibility or professional advice.
Football evaluation differs sharply by position, so preparation should match the drills and film opportunities.
Key considerations
- Ask for the position-group schedule in advance.
- Bring position-specific footwear and protective equipment.
- Practice measurable drills with correct technique.
- Know whether one-on-ones and video are included.
- Choose recovery and hydration over adding extra events.
Questions to ask before you commit
Who operates the opportunity? Is the venue confirmed? What will the athlete actually receive? What happens if travel, weather, staffing or coach attendance changes? What supervision, medical and emergency procedures are in place? Keep written records and independently verify important claims.
Keep the decision athlete-centered
Consider development value, health, academics, family budget and realistic fit together. A camp, showcase, trainer or marketing opportunity should never be treated as a guaranteed path to recruitment, ranking, an offer or a scholarship.
